I'm sure I'm probably worrying for nothing but im getting worried about DS not walking. He's just turned 14 months, he cruises and uses his walker etc but just doesn't seem to want to walk alone at all!

What age did your LOs start walking?

Sounds perfectly on track. 14MO is actually about the average for taking 1st steps. One of my nieces walked at 15MO. Very good physically and got quite good at gymnastics. The other walked at 10MO and she's about as coordinated as bambi on ice Grin It doesn't mean much and I really wouldn't worry until he's nearer 18 months. Crawling has been shown to be beneficial for their development so don't rush him. X

Average walking age is 12-18 months - way too early to worry, especially if he’s cruising x

Don’t worry! Mine only took his first steps a few weeks ago at 17 months. Sounds like he’s doing fine if he’s cruising. The cruising stage lasted ages for my son.

My DS walked when he was 14 months and his mates (from mum groups) also between 14-16 months as it's the average. Don't worry until 18 months op. I have a friend who's DS walked at 9 months which was a disaster for her as 9 months is a baby walking with no understanding whereas a 14-18 month old toddler walking are more wary of their surroundings :)

16 months. My husband was 18 months!
