15mo DS not walking/talking/pointing and more

I'm slightly worried about our 15mo DS, I know he has time to start all these things but there seems to be a boom in autistic boys in our village so of course the mum in me is panicking lol

DS isn't walking, talking other than dadadadada but not specifically to his DF or me, he's not feeding himself ie finger foods, we suspect tongue tie that wasn't picked up on when he was born.

He's also not pointing, waving, clapping, mimicking and has only just started giving us but only us eye contact, he completely switches off when we leave the house and won't interact with anyone else but me (he's slowly coming round to DH) doesn't overly respond to his name and if he does it's only after we've said it over and over again.

He doesn't bring us objects or seem to acknowledge when I give any commands (no, stop, yes etc)

DD7yo hit her milestones very early but I'm not comparing him to her as I know each baby is different.

We're on the waiting list for paediatrics but no idea when we'll see them due to covid.

Just wondering if anyone had any idea of what we could do to maybe help him along? I've tried repeatedly pointing and naming objects when I hand them to him, talking to him, I try reading to him but he's not interested at all in books and I'm just at a loss of what to do.

Anyone have any ideas?

I didnt want to pass your post op you must be very worried. I would contact your public health nurse or gp for advice. The earlier the intervention the better for your son. Look for online support groups for more info. Good luck

I just wanted to reply and boost your post so someone with more knowledge can come along and comment on this. I had a similar worry about my 19 month old at that age minus the walking as he walked when he was 14 months, but when he turned 17 months, the pointing, the name responding, eye contact, sharing interest, mimicking, imitating and bringing toys came along. He is also pointing to request things only occasionally, maybe once every 2-3 days. His 19 months now and has about 5 words he has been using since he was 14 months and we haven't progressed language wise. I haven't ruled out anything but I'm trying to enjoy him and I've had many sleepless nights over this. I have an appointment end of this month about this and hopefullly I'll see what they can offer. Good luck and I'm sure more experienced users will come along to comment and advise you.
