Baby wanting night feeds

Hi Mummies!

Soooo my boy is 6 month olds, eating 3 meals a day. Recently his sleep has been a nightmare. He used to sleep during his night bottle so I've recently started his night time routine earlier so he doesn't fall asleep on me. He's doing really well sleeping in his crib when he's partially awake. For the last few weeks he's started to wake up, moaning. If I leave him to moan, he'll wake himself up and cry. I'm not gona leave him there to cry so I do get him out. No judgement here please. Sometimes, he'll want a night feed. He's hasn't really needed a night feed since he was 3 months old. I don't know why he wants a night feed as he's eating so much and having 3 bottles at 7ozs during the day.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Any tips?

3 bottles a day at 6 months old is not a lot. Can you fit in another day feed? Milk is still very important at that age

Really? I read in the Ella's kitchen recipe book that as long as they're having at least 17ozs of milk a day, they're fine. He's having 21

Strictly speaking weaning should only just be starting at that age and should be done gradually so that as solids increase milk slowly decreases. 500mls is the bare minimum they should have at that age. Would it not be better to give extra milk in the day than have to wake and give in during the night?

I agree with previous posts. Three meals a day for a 6 month old is a lot. At 6 months my daughter had only one meal a day and 4/5 7oz bottles. She didn't wake in the night for another bottle, and I think it was because I was making sure she had a lot during the day.

Agree with what’s been said by previous posters. They get more calories from milk than food at that age, my DD was having one meal and 6-8 breastfeeds a day at 6 months. And it’s really not unusual for babies to wake at night at that age for feeds either.

Yeah agree with above, more milk. My son was weaned at 4 month due to severe reflux, however I think he was still on 28 oz of milk in the day 8oz in each, he's 9 month now and naturally started drinking less on 18 to 24oz now depending what he wants. He's slept through since 5 month but he still wakes up now and again not for a bottle but just a winge or to play on his own for 15 min or so. Maybe cut his breakfast down a bit and offer milk?
