7 month old climbing

So DS is 7 months and has been properly crawling for a few weeks now. He spent the first few weeks really into everything and just spent ages crawling round finding his toys/things he shouldn’t have 😂 and loved his new freedom.
But recently he just constantly climbs me.
If I’m sat on the floor with him he just pulls him self up to stand on me, climbs on my legs and when I pick him up and he is trying to climb up my chest almost over my shoulder.
If I’m standing up doing something he just follows me and pinches my legs whilst pulling him self up using my skin 😩. If I pick him up he instantly launches himself out my arms like he wants to get down, then repeats the climbing over and over.
Is this just a reassurance thing?
Do I just keep picking him up then letting him get back down?
Anyone else’s babies doing this?

Yes DD is 8 1/2 months and has been properly crawling since just before 7 months. Exactly as you describe! No advice but interested to see what others say. I suspect it's a clingyness thing, Wonder Weeks app suggests I should expect this in the run up to her imminent developmental leap.

Another leap.. whoopie I look forward to that 😂 it’s so strange as sometimes he will play but the more days go by, the shorter the times are he actually plays. He will crawl to the other side of the room, find something that interests him for 30 seconds then he is straight back over to me again.
