up until last week tantrums have been easily resolved, distraction or picking up for a cuddle but since last week they have been another level entirely. Triggers are if he wants me to go somewhere he pulls me (he isn't speaking much at all yet, despite understand everything). He roughly pulls me so I've started saying not to pull me and take my hand instead. This leads to a 15 minute + meltdown where no distraction or talking to him helps. Other triggers are if we have to leave somewhere and he doesnt want to go.

I just don't know if this is normal or not because I haven't got any friends or family with children the same age. I feel like when I'm out with him this last week it's always me who has the screaming toddler who is thrashing around

I guess I want to know is this normal and how do you manage the tantrums?

No advice unfortunately but I can at least confirm my 19 month old DS is the same!! It used to just be when we said no to something... but now it's usually if he has to go in the car or the pram, or just generally be taken away from something he wants to do! Hates getting dressed. Getting a coat on him is a nightmare!! He isn't talking much either... like most things - think/hope it's just a phase! You have my sympathy as I know how hard it is!
