DS suddenly dislike bath time

DS is 12 weeks old and used to enjoy his bath. But recently he has started crying every time he's put in his bath. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why? And what I can do to make bath time fun for him (and for me) again?

His bath is part of his bedtime routine and usually occurs between 6 - 6.30pm.

Is the water or bathroom/room too cold. I know I have had to start putting the heating on now its got so cold. Maybe warm the towel so it is nice and cosy when he gets out.

In the bath I bought a thing that sucks onto the bath and danggles over the baby with a mirror and things to grab etc. But I put the baby bath in the main bath which made it easier.

My dd was just the same. Didn't flinch in the first few weeks but then from about 3/4 months cried but then at about 5/6 months started girgling and giggling in the water. It might just be a phase.

get in the bath with him - they feel much safer then.

Dd did this at 18 months which was a total shock as she'd been a bathing fanatic before that. It lasted a week and I've no idea why it happened and why it stopped. Sorry, this is a great help isn't it? Just wanted to suggest it may be a phase ...

Thanks. I guess I'll just have to persevere. I have reduced bath time to every other day for now and just do topping and tailing on the other days. DS is having swimming sessions at the beginning of November. I hope he won't cry too much then.

After i stopped bleeding after having dd I started bathing with her- I still do, with her in her bath chair and me in the bath- far easier and it's fun
