Silent reflux?

Hi all,

Coming here in desperation again. Solent reflux was mentioned on a previous thread I posted and I’m just wondering if anyone can give me advice regarding their experiences etc. At the moment I’m constantly crying because I just can’t keep my baby comfortable... these are the symptoms I’ve managed to pinpoint:

Coughing when feeding
Gulping when feeding and then turning head and crying
Difficulty sleeping
Bringing up clear liquid
Squirming when lying down
Frequent feeding (every 30 to 60 minutes) only tiny amounts 20-60ml
Hiccups after many feeds
Swallowing something long after feeding with a grimace
Rumbling sounds in tummy
Stuffy nose

During the day she’s not so bad as I’m constantly holding her but at night after she’s had a couple of hours of lying down she’s up every 30-60 minutes upset and requires cuddling and giving small amounts of milk.

I’m waiting for a call back from the nurse at my GP surgery but doubt I’ll be taken seriously at all.

She’s 9 weeks old and this is getting progressively worse.

They sound like absolutely classic symptoms of silent reflux and meet every single symptom my son had. Press your gp on it on and on. I ended up at A&E and they prescribed omeprazole, instant overnight game changer. I had a baby exactly as you describe and now he’s happy! It took trying lots of things but we got there in the end (milk thickener, gaviscon, different milk) so please, make sure your GP gets it sorted. I really hope you’re ok, I know it is just so unrelentless and they are so uncomfortable, it’s hell. I KNEW my baby needed help and in the end I had to not settle or let them fob me off, it took a lot of perseverance but we got there. Sending love.
