Think my 8 week old is teething?! Is that possible

Hello everyone ☺️

My 8 week old has had a pretty rough day yesterday, he was super unsettled and grizzly, cried almost all day and wanted held constantly which wasn’t like him.

Tried everything, milk, naps, baths, nappy changes, more clothes, less clothes, and he only slept after an hour or being rocked on my chest.

My mum mentioned she thought she’d seen he’s teeth coming through when she had him last week, and sure enough when I’ve looked I can see the outline of two bottom teeth one each side. Surely this is too early??

My friends baby has just started teething at 10 months old, so he feels far too young bless him :(

Looking at it he does seem to have symptoms, restless, he’s obsessed with his dummy at the moment and keeps trying to suck my fingers if I wipe his mouth, he’s dribbling clear liquid a lot, and seems in pain.

Could it be teething at this age? Has anyone else’s baby went though this so young?

Hi there,

It does sound like he's teething bless him. My son was probably a few weeks older but he started teething early he didn't actually get two teeth until recently at 7 months but they kept coming to the surface of gum without cutting. Dribbling all the time, chewing his hands. Ask the health visitor, but I'm pretty sure although uncommon it does happen early.

My middle boy's front teeth came through at 3 months. Could seem them at 2 months. My daughter's 2 months now and I can see one tooth sitting there, waiting to erupt.
