I have just discovered that a 9 year old girl spat at my son and into his lunchbox in school today. I am so angry and upset and feel the mother of child is not taking this incident seriously. Due to covid should I get son tested? Should school suspended this girl for this behaviour. My family think that the police should be involved as this is considered an assault.

Obviously that is terrible behaviour and I'm sure the school is taking it seriously. You can and should ask the school how they are handling the incident and what they will be doing to prevent it happening again.

It isn't assault, as she is a 9 year old child. You can't prosecute 9 year olds. They do make stupid impulsive decisions and hopefully this will be dealt with in such a way that she won't do it again.

As for getting tested, please do NOT do this. There is a testing crisis at the moment! Does your son have any symptoms of covid? Does this other child? We can't test people every time they come into contact with other people just in case!
