My DS age 19 months is constantly dribbling ie drips from his chin constantly and soaks through 6-7 bibs a day. He has his mouth open all the time.
Anyone else had a similar problem, how long did it last? I am beginning to get very frustrated.

Has he been doing it long? It's a classic sign of teething, and if those molars are all coming through they could be irritating his saliva glandfs.

Hi,

My DS was still doing this at nearly 4 (sorry if that depresses you) - just not so much dribble at 4. He still used to soak the front of his tops though. It got to the stage where I couldn't put a bib on him as he was too old so had to cope with it. He's undergone a massive change in the last 12 months though and now doesn't dribble at all.

It used to drive me round the twist too.
With your DS it could be the teeth or he might just be a dribbler.
When DS reached an age where he could understand we used to gently remind him to wipe his chin now and then.

It did finally stop thank goodness but he was 4 before it did. Now he's almost 5 and it seems like a lifetime ago even though it's really only been a matter of months.

theclosetpagan, I really hope it doesn't go on that long, but kowing that it will stop eventually is good news. I can handle it if he is just a dribblechops, but was beginning to worry it was something else as have never met such a problem before
