Hi my son has just turned 9 months and hes always been funny with other people, lockdown didnt help but after lockdown we started to get him used to my parents again and whilst he can be ok if they are in the same room with me he panics if i go out the room or if my parents pick him up. He also has severe meltdowns if hes left with anyone other than me or his dad, this is causing issues as we get no time to ourselves even though my parents are dying to look after him we just cant seem to leave him. Im back to work in a couple of months and my mum will be looking after him 1 day and he is going to nursery 2 days a week, im totally dreading this due to his meltdown with other people, ive tried to introduce him to other babies his age, one day we had a playdate with one of his friends and the whole time he cried and screamed, i just dont know how to get round this l so any tips would be welcome or if anyone has gone through something similar.

Our son is very similar due to lockdown, but that's all it is. He has a meltdown when he goes somewhere new, but we simply let him sit on our knee or hold him until he gets interested in exploring his surroundings.

The most difficult one has been nursery, as adults aren't allowed in with him. We have had to do a very slow introduction and whilst he seems better, I still wouldn't say he is great going in yet. I would definitely ask if you can do a few 1 hour sessions in nursery before you try and leave him for a whole day.
