How to get my 12m old to eat!?

My DC is 12 months and has always been a fussy eater. I spoon fed him from 5 months and offered finger foods with this for him to try. He initially took to it quite well but I have never been able to get him to eat any vegetables or chunkier finger foods. I started trying to move away from spoon feeding and purée a few months ago and it has been a battle every since! Now he has reached 12 months I am trying to only give him proper meals that he can eat himself but the only things he will eat are toast, fruits, spreadable cheese on vegetable crackers, any crisps (I get the vegetable ones) and biscuits.

I have tried all sorts of recipes, cut things up small for him, try to let him take it from my plate, he just doesn’t want it and screams and then cries if I leave it on his high chair table or chucks it all on the floor. If I were to offer him a purée he would eat it all straight away! I feel awful like I’ve done something wrong when weaning him!

I really don’t don’t where to go from here and any advice, or anyone who’s had a similar experience please let me know! X
