7 month old not babbling

Hi,

My daughter is 7 months old and isn’t making many sounds at all. She spends most of the day silent other than the odd raspberry blowing and squeaky sounds. The health visitor reviewed her last week as I had called about a month ago to air my concern. She said my daughter was advanced or where she needs to be for everything physical but scored low for communication. I’m getting really worried, as other than crying and the odd sound, I don’t hear anything from her. Even when she’s excited, she will kick her legs and do the biggest grin, but no squeals or anything else. Very hard to make her laugh too. She’s very engaged and observant, so she makes loads of eye contact, smiles lots, loves stories and songs. Hearing isn’t an issue either. The HV said she had never come across it before which has made me worry more! Anyone else experienced this?

Thank you

Hello, I feel as though you have literally described my son!! He is currently 7 months and exactly the same. Very advanced physically for his age but I can’t help but worry about the no babbling. This hasn’t been posted on in a year I’d love to know how your daughter is now, need something to calm my nerves can’t help but feel anxious as if I’m a bad mummy.
