Hi all
My 6 year old son has shown extremely hyper behaviour in the last year. He constantly has to be the loudest, most hyper, centre of attention in the room. He hasn't demonstrated behaviour like this before. He finds it hard to follow instructions (I need to say something 3-4 times before he grasps what he's to do) in more of a listening way rather than not actually knowing how to do it. I've actually started saying words rather than sentences because he follows it more clearly, so for example shoes, coat, now. He has started recently having a 'feeling sorry for himself' mood, constantly saying people don't like him, why does he get shouted at etc. I'm hoping this is just a 'stage' but curious to know if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Hiya... this sounds a bit like my 10yo DSS...

Does any of this this sound familiar too?

Can't / won't listen, extremely loud, flaps arms around, makes weird and unpleasant noises, often grumpy, doesn't like himself, doesn't quite "fit in", disobedient, steals and overeats food, snatches things that he wants from others, talks incessantly, talks in a booming voice, interrupts conversations, talks in a mean way to younger siblings, creative thinking, struggles to focus, struggles to lose at a game, often jealous, often inappropriate, often won't make eye contact, genuinely doesn't understand if he's done something wrong, daytime and nightime wetting, occasional soiling, swearing, "awkward" movement, creative storytelling, takes a very long time to explain things.

I'm 100% convinced it's ADHD. Doctor won't diagnose though. Possibly your son might have it too?
