'Face crawling' - how long to actual crawling?

Obviously I know each baby is different, but just hoping to get an idea from other people's experiences.

My 5 month old has started to push along the floor with her legs, but at the moment does not use her arms at all and kind of scoots along by smoothing her face into the floor. So she raises onto her knees, then pushes along IYSWIM? She's also quite strong on her front arms but hasn't really gone on to hands and knees yet.

I am wondering how much peace longer I have with an immobile baby.. And when I need to seriously start thinking of baby proofing hard edges!

Haha! My LO is the same age and doing the same! He can get his butt up in the air or lift his chest - he can’t seem to do them both at the same time!

So watching with interest to see when he might get there - it’s the throwing himself about that’s getting me!

It's impossible to say.

My DC was doing that at 6 months and crawling badly by 7.5 months and properly by 8.5.

Enjoy the peace while it lasts!

My DS started doing this a few days after turning 6 months . Within 2 weeks he was fully crawling at a decent speed . It happened very suddenly for us and I was not prepared 😬
