toddler teeth

My 2 year old dd was slow to get her teeth and now has 9 top and bottom. I thought that would be it for a while as she's got the first molars (4, 1 in each corner as it were) through. I know there's another set of molars but I'd thought they came mid-late in the second year and she's only just turned 2. I'm asking because she says her mouth is sore, is chewing away on her hands, drooling like a loony and has those acidic nappies again. I can't see anything in her mouth but then it's a bit far back. Anyone have any idea when the second set of molars comes in?

prefernot - ds (now 2y2m) had this just before his 2nd birthday

I was worried about the dribbling but it turned out to be his teeth. it also coincided with his sleep going crazy

it can take months for tem to actually come through the gum

It's usually about 2.6 apparently, although I've never been too sure when my children's actually came through. It does seem to take ages but I never fancied putting my fingers in there to find out just how they were doing! My ds2 is 20 mos and had all the other teeth, but has recently started the red-cheeked thing on and off, so I think they're on their way. Oh yippee.

Hello prefernot.
DD had all hers by the time she was 2.2 so I reckon they're all different. I was so relieved when it was over - her childminder said DD was the worst for suffering with her teeth she had ever met

My daughter got her second molars at 2y 1m but they're all different and come when they feel like it! They can take weeks and weeks to come through though so you may not see much just yet.

Ok, thanks everyone. Dd didn't get her first tooth until she was 11 months and has only just had her incisors through completely so I'd thought there might be a little break before the second molars came in. But maybe not!
