How do I know if 8 year is immature or something else. He is a June birthday so I understand he won’t be as mature as his older friends and cousin who turns 9 in September. We have a 4 year old who often seems far more mature than him, if we play cricket on a beach she plays and tries to understand the rules he runs about making silly noises, he cannot sit thru playing a board game and has paddy’s like he’s a toddler if he thinks a decision is unjust. I’m concerned about how long to give him before looking into other possible causes - would school have said something if they were concerned? I feel like I don’t want to open Pandora’s box with him being monitored at school if he just needs to ‘grow up’ 😬🤷🏻♀️
