My little girl is 2 weeks old tomorrow when she was born she had a load of mucus so on the day she was born they were unable to get anything from her hearing screening, I went today and they passed her left ear but not right, they have referred her for audiology appointment and swabbed her for cmv, does anyone else have experience of this I'm worried sick xx

Congratulations on your new baby! Don't panic, though I know that's easy to say. Many children fail the Newborn screen and it can be difficult to test in clinic while they are so tiny. I am sure you are Googling like mad, but do try not to, it will only worry you more. I know this wait is terrifying, I've been there myself. Just enjoy getting to know her and getting used to your new arrival - and try not to 'test' her yourself at home, you will drive yourself mad trying to see if she is responding to noises.

Thanks for your reply so many different forums and no response which added more to the worry 😢 she’s still very mucusy so I’m hoping it’s just that but let’s face it waiting around is so long xx

I know, it feels like forever.
I think the worst bit is that you dont see this coming at all, I didn't even know they tested, it was a huge shock that my dc then failed. Have you got an appointment date yet? Dd was 4 weeks when we went to clinic.
Hope the mucousy stuff goes soon, poor little thing!
