I’m sure lots of parents are in the same boat, and I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this.
Our DD was a very confident and sociable little thing pre-lockdown. She’s just turned 1 and, as we are getting out and about more, it’s becoming clear that she is really very shy of strangers. Not surprising since she’s only seen me and DH since March. Plus I read that separation anxiety can peak around this age anyway.
How do I ease her out of this? Yesterday a friend asked to hold her and DD seriously lost it before the friend even got that close, I think she kind of understood my explanation of what was about to happen and thought “no thanks”. I’m loathe to make her do it, but also worried she’ll have to get used to strangers again for nursery soon.
Would be interested in others’ thoughts.
