10 YO facial tic

My 10 YO has developed a tic in the last few days. Like he’s slightly yawning or clicking his jaw. He’s had tics in the past but not for a while. This one seems less subtle than some of the previous ones.

He’s otherwise fine. Feel really worried. Any advice?

How have you dealt with it in the past?
I'm sure you know tics are best completely ignored, pointing them out and drawing attention to them only makes it worse (I have tics since childhood and my mum used to point them out to me occasionally which made me so embarrassed)
My son had tics on and off from the ages 3-8 and as they didn't affect him in anyway they were ignored and he grew out of it. That said he was young and never became aware that he had tics. Is your 10yo aware of the tic he has or ones in the past?

He’s not really aware. I previously just ignored it and will do with this,

Just worried as he hasn’t had one since then.

I mean he hasn’t had one for a while.

I get that, my son used to go months of having no tics (6-8 months sometimes) and then they would appear again which would devastate me.
I would say the fact they disappeared for so long before returning is a really positive sign that the same will happen again and he will grow out of it.

Thanks. Hope so.
