Hi there Any recommendations for apps / other ways of learning toddlers signing (not BSL) for a hearing child to improve communication and reduce need for tantrums
Has to be affordable as household income has been hit hard
Much appreciated

I use makaton signing with my toddler. I’m not sure about apps but there are lots of free images online and videos on YouTube that show the signs. I’m pretty sure makaton is what Mr Tumble uses on CBeebies so you could watch that too.

I did makaton with my DD (who has a slight hearing impairment). It really helped on a couple of occasions and also was just something she enjoyed learning.

A PP has already mentioned, Mr Tumble uses Makaton. You can get a box set of the early episodes really quite cheaply on DVD, or I think it’s available if you have Netflix or similar (I don’t, so I’m not sure). My DD loves music, so we also had It’s Singing Time with Signing Hands (there are 3 normal DVDs of nursery rhymes, plus 2 Christmas ones). They are very simple and not at all flashy, so suitable for young toddlers.

Thanks so much.
Have checked out Singing Time with Signing Hands and it's on Youtube as well :)
