Separation Anxiety at 9 months

Hiya, first post here. Mostly looking for a bit of reassurance that my baby isn't the only one whose separation anxiety is this severe.

  • we can't leave her to cry when we put her up to bed at night (not even for 2 minutes) because she makes herself vomit (and I mean serious vomiting, pretty much projectile and repeated and everywhere) so we have to put her to bed when we go to bed or make sure she's fully asleep before going downstairs.
  • I've visited my parents with her twice in the last 3 weeks (due to Covid restrictions being more relaxed) and both times I've handed her to one of my parents so I can get ready for bed, and she's cried and thrown up (again repeatedly and projectile) even when she could see me but I wasn't holding her.

It seems to be worst at night, as during the day I can leave her in her cot and she will nap after whining for a little bit (and she won't be sick).

Due to us living away from family until she was 3 months old, and then Covid, she hasn't spent more than a few hours away from me since being born. She is EBF (with solids as well) and is generally an extremely happy baby. Her development is good - she's pulling herself up and cruising on furniture, and she's babbling away, and has a very active mind (she gets bored very easily).

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been through this, as it seems quite severe!
