Bedtime struggle

Hello.

My Son is 11 and wants to sleep with his Mum's dressing gown, and have her cuddle his soft toy each night. During the day he doesn't even know we exist. At bedtime he reverts to a toddler, often on the verge of tears if I don't give him the dressing gown.
Am I being too hard on him, What can I do to wean him off it?
My wife keeps giving in and letting him have it.

Anyone else going/gone through anything similar?

Thanks

M

Hi! Is there a reason you think he shouldn't have it?
You have your wife to cuddle up to and comfort you at night, he sleeps alone. As long as he's not sucking his thumb with it and ruining his teeth I don't see a problem. 11 is a crazy time where a lot of changes are happening in his life, a little comfort at bed time can't do any harm. :) I'm sure you wouldn't take away his teddies or toys?
