Hiya everyone i am new to the boards but am really hoping that someone can help me.

my youngest daughter who is noe two has collected the milly bears that are sold in the Asda since she was born, which was in 05. unfortunately she will only use one of them to settle her if she is upset and wants to go to sleep and it is now looking a little worse for wear as it has been washed so many times and i am deperatly trying to find one of the same as i have tried her with the others to no avail. Can anyone help. the bear that i am looking for was on sale in the summer of 05 and is wearing a pale pink and white checked dress, it has an embroided face and has Milly embroided on the foot. Would be willing to pay a good price as my life will not be worth living if i dont find one soon.

oh dear, no help im afraid, just bumping for you.

Have you tried ebay? If not could you maybe contact asda head office or something and see if they can give you the company that supplied them, a long shot, but sounds like it might be worth it.

Maybe it is time to move on to a replacement milly though, could you introduce something before finally removing the old one so that she has a new attachment and wont even notice. Of course that is never going to work, i was devestated when my dog ate my cuddly aslan, and that was when i was 30!

Maybe try posting in the wanted section on here - I have always found people very helpful

lucyellensmum · 27/09/2007 14:51

oh and welcome, hope you enjoy

There are quite a few on ebay.
here

gruesomefoursome · 27/09/2007 15:32

Hi you lot thanks for all messages. have looked on ebay but unfortunatley they are not the rite one, there was one earlier on this month but somone else won it and wont sell it on even tho i have begged

I have also posted an advert on the wanted section and phoned asda head office but so far am not having any luck.

I have five other "Milly Bears" from the same collection but unfortunatley they are all different and she wont entertain any of them apart from her favorite.

I think i must have emailed every person that is selling or has ever sold one to see if they know of another one about.

have also put an ad on Ebay and on jo frosts site to try and get one cos there must be someone in england who has one they dont want so if you fancy asking around anyone you know with a young daughter it would be much appreciated

IME with ds2's teddy bear from M&S -
he won't sleep or settle without it and its looking really knackered (or well loved to him!)
So my mum talked my sis into giving him the one she bought for my nephew. It is identical, but to ds2 it might as well be a totally different teddy as its not the SAME ONE and just won't settle him.
I know friends who've tried getting a 2nd of the same thing but the child just knows what is the original and best and most can't be fooled with a new one.
So on that point, you may as well stop looking cos she won't love a new one, she just loves her old knackered one.

I have to admit that my niece is like that. my sister in law bought her 12 of the same toy but she only wanted the ratty one.

Eve screams like holy hell whenever Milly is lost or if i put her in the wasing machine she will stand in front of the washer crying for her until she is washed and dried.

i have to try

When my niece lost her blankie that her other granma had knitted, the poor woman sat up ALL NIGHT knitting another one as fast as she could while the child screamed and wouldn't go to sleep!

gruesomefoursome · 27/09/2007 19:35

yeah i have tried it on yahoo search engine but it didnt come up with anything. I will try google tho and see if it comes up with any different, when asda eventually ring me back i will see if they can tell me who manufactures them

thank you. Have tried what someone suggested about giving her one of the other maill's that i have and so far it seems to be working but will have to see if she feels the same once she has woken up. am having fun at the minute trying to get my 5yr old dd and my 4 yr old twin sons to go to bed. they are so hyper tonight.

EvangelinesMum · 27/09/2007 20:04

Could you try swapping the dress onto one of the other milly's so it looks like the other one?

gruesomefoursome · 27/09/2007 21:50

Well i tried eve with the other one and it failed miserably.

OP posts:
Flibbertyjibbet · 28/09/2007 17:57

Oh good, now when you get them in use you need to rotate them with the original one and wash them all at the same time when they have all got grotty. Then she won't know which one it is!

gruesomefoursome · 28/09/2007 18:19

I know. I think i am going to stick yjem in the washer about ten times

Flibbertyjibbet · 28/09/2007 18:57
