I'm replying more so as our LO is on the verge of crawling and I'm worried about him hurting himself as in our living room we have wood flooring with a big rug and a couple of times he's moved off the rug and hit his face on the floor. Luckily not so he's hurt himself but I'm wondering how things will be when he's much more mobile. Let me know if you come across any tips!

I had a playpen and also had a travel cot and popped him in there when I really needed to get things done and wasn't around to monitor him. I baby proofed everything from sockets to cupboards and put cushions around radiators and other sharp places. Make sure you put stick on cushions on corners of coffee tables and tv units.

I closed the door to the living room so he didn't sneak out basically monitored all the time. Of course you won't leave little 5ps around or other small items that could be swallowed. Other than that, good luck and it gets easier once they are more aware of their surroundings.

The travel cot is a great idea, we invested in one and as the last poster said using that when needed (such as when you need to loo!!!) is really helpful.

I was just wondering about the corner protectors as we bought some and they just keep falling off (The Lindam ones).

I like the idea of the cushions as well so that's one to try 😊

@MamaJR2019 my sofas have massive cushions and if I needed to, I also used pillows from my bed too. The only difficult part during this period is if you're going around a friends house and can't baby proof someone else's house. The travel cot is the best thing I have invested in and I still use it now even though DS is 15 months and walking. You need that little break. I put the iPad on and leave him there 😊
