Toddler question

skyblue27 · 11/06/2020 16:35

My toddler is 2 years 3 months and I'm deffo not the fun parent. Don't get me wrong I do try and we have fun together but he deffo has more fun with daddy.

So my question is do kids prefer the fun parent?

Kids need and appreciate boundaries, but of course they also like having fun.

If the 'fun' parent is also setting boundaries, being reliable and providing all the other stuff they need then I would imagine they would prefer that parent.

If the 'fun' parent is good at fun, but not much else then no, I think they realise when they're older who actually raised them.

My hubby is good at everything so looks like he will be the preferred one then

I'd try not to get into the mindset of who's the favourite. He loves you both. That's what matters.

Daddy might be the most fun now, but there'll be other fun things that you're better at.

What does he do with you that he likes? He might love your cuddles better or love helping you with little jobs around the house. Maybe you point out interesting things when you go for walks whereas his dad is more into the action. I bet you both bring something!
