Speech therapy

hi All
I have a 3 year old daugther and her speech is not where it should be. I had a speech therapy session and the therapist says she suspects Autism. I am trying to organise an appointment with a specialist for diagnosis. I have read the symptoms of autism and i think the only one she has is the speech delay.
Has anyone ever been told by a speech therapist that they suspected autism but the specialist diagnosis eventually ruled this out?

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

Did the therapist say why she suspects autism? Not all children show all symptoms but if you only think she's got speech delay then that's probably what it is.

She said she saw red flags like my daughter sometimes being in her own world and not mimicking enough.

A speech delay is not a symptom of autism, speech delays are very common in children and the vast majority will not have autism. In addition, toddlers with autism may have delayed speech, or they may have normal speech or even have advanced speech, basically the same as a toddler without autism.
