3 year old attention span?

DS is just turned 3. Today we did some alphabet letter tracing in a wipe clean book I had bought and he just loses interest after about 10 seconds 😂
He will give it a go but I have to keep encouraging him and saying do another one try again etc.
If he can't get it right first go he will get stroppy and say 'Ohhh I can't do it!' And then I explain you need to try again we can't get cross and just give up when things do go right first time.
I get him interested in it and then he does a few letters and says 'did it!' And then gets down off the chair and goes to play with his toys 😂
I'm not worried about him not doing it too much right now but is it normal for them to have such tiny attention spans at this age?! 😂

My DD will be 3 in a few days, she is the same.
If she is not in the mood for it, her attention span is probably closer to 0!
Now...if she really wants to do it, she would want to complete the whole book, so it really depends...
It would also depend on each child’s character I think.
My DD is very energetic and prefers to be moving around in general, she really needs to be in the mood for an activity that requires sitting down

Honestly it’s not that interesting for him, try using sand or paint if you want to letter practice .
All learning should be through play at this stage, don’t bombard him.
