15 month speech regression

Bit concerned that my 15 month old little boy seems to be regressing in his speech. A couple of months ago he was copying words really well, as well as Mama and Dada he would say Nanny, Du-Du for duck, Do-Do for Dog, Labbid for Rabbit... but he doesn't really say any of them now except Mama and Dada.

He obviously understands when we talk to him, will fetch specific doys if you ask him, can point out different animals in books, will give kisses and cuddles if you ask him.

He's walking and running, and he's doing new things all the time with stacking cubes and cups, putting Duplo together, kicking a football...

Just worried that he seems to have stopped saying the words like he was.

Any advice or reassurance?

My 15 month is like that too and has been for a few months .Sometimes he’ll go through a phase where he says so much - Mama, dada, bird, cat , panda , nana ( banana ), hi , no etc etc and then he’ll say nothing for a coupe weeks 🤷‍♀️

I’m not that bothered as he’s still so young and I know lots of babies his age that don't talk at all . And like your little one he understands most of what I say to him , follows instructions etc !

Hi @PastaFasool

This thread might be an old one now, but I’m interested to know the outcome. I’m in a similar situation with my DD who is 15mo. She used to say a lot of words for milk, water, playing music, dog bark, papa, mama, grandpa etc since she turned one but now she is not saying any of them at all. But she isa very active, happy child, walking and running, laughing. But I just can’t help myself think that there is something wrong.

How did she score on 12 month assessment @Pinksworthy90? And how does she do on this speech & language progress checker?
