Toddler Behaviour

I am looking for any advice possible as I am going mad! I have a two year old son whose behaviour is getting worse. As I write this the things sound trivial but I just don't know how to deal with them!

  1. He won't let me sit down. Ever. If I do he cries to pull me up on my feet but then wants me just to stand there! So I sit again and he gets up beside me and starts screaming and kicking me.
  2. He runs from room to room making a mess. Pulling toilet roll of the holder, pulling duvets off the beds, trashes his own bedroom.
  3. Throws the food I give him to the floor if its not what he wants.
  4. Won't go to sleep. Fights and screams.

He is not at nursery yet, and I stay home with him, but we do have play dates with friends. Obviously it was not been happening in lockdown but we live in Portugal and are out of lockdown now so we have been to the park and walk along the beach every day. He has plenty of toys and books in the house and a terrace to play on. I do playdoh with him and colouring. We make cakes. But these tantrums, are they just him being a toddler? When he does get out of control I put him in his room to cool down, which does seem to be working. But is there anything I should or shouldn't be doing?

thank you so much!!
