8 month old tantrums?

My 8 month old has recently started screaming at the top of her lungs when she wants/doesn't want something - lunch is taking too long, doesn't want to lie on the changing table, I pick her up because she's trying to drink from the dog bowl, etc. - and won't stop until she gets what she wants... isn't it a little early for this kind of behavior? Seems more like something a toddler would do to me.. also, how long until this 'phase' is over?? Helppppp!

It depends on the child, but on and off until they're in their 20's.

Isn't parenthood fun? Grin

Distraction is your friend at this age, distract from the tantrum. Pick your battles carefully and don't give in to it.
