Teething?

Ok, this might sound daft, or even just really irresponsible, but...
Ds is four months. For the past week, he has started waking in the night and being really really grumpy. I've been putting it down to teething, as he's dribbling and chewing his hands, but I'm worried I'm missing something. He's still eating, pooing and weeing normally, is alert, a good colour etc, but his cry is a bit moany and groany. Don't want to go to doc if it is teething, as I'm there pretty much every week and he thinks I'm a loon. So, essentially, did anyone else's babies make funny cries when teething, or should I get to doc? Advice most welcome....

sounds like teeth to me. the little buggers can take ages to come through so even if no teeth appear imminently, don't rule it out. if you can tick all the boxes on poo, wee, appetite, colour, etc then i wouldn't worry about seeing the dr. you can get homeopathic teething granules that you rub on gums or there is always the good old calpol if you want to give him something?
