8 month old won't stop crying

I am at my wits end, and starting to resent my 8 month old as he won't stop whinging and crying. He is my second, and was a really quiet, lovely little baby however for the past 2 x months he has progressively got worse and worse. I don't know if anyone else has been experiencing this so just looking for similar experiences. From the moment he wakes up, until the moment he goes to sleep he shouts, cries, and whinges. When you pick him up he starts laughing but everything in between is really challenging.

That must be really tough and sounds quite draining.

Did it coincide with weaning? If so, it might be worth keeping a good diary and seeing if there's any pattern to food and his mood.

To be honest though neither of mine were very keen on being put down and at 8 months I had them on one of those hip seats most of the time
