16 month old frustration/sleep problems

My daughter is 16 months old and has always been a fairly good sleeper. She is hypermobile in her joints so was late to crawl and is not yet walking unaided although we are getting there.

My concern has been with her levels of frustration and upset over the past few weeks/months. She's not in any supposed developmental 'leap' but she's become increasingly whiny, needy, crying a lot, temper tantrums, lots of kicking in the high chair, hitting of our faces etc. She is incredibly quick to upset. Is this the start of the 'terrible twos'?!

The other thing to mention is that she has recently dropped her morning nap but for some reason only takes 45 mins - 1 hour at lunch time whereas she used to take 2-3 hours. The tiredness could be the reason for the behaviour and frustration but I can't work out how to make her sleep longer at lunch time now! Going out in the pram and all other tactics don't seem to work.

Would just love some general advice on any of these points.

Thank you!

It could be that she's frustrated by her inability to move about by herself? Apparently i was the same as a child before i started walking and then transformed when i got mobile.
