I had mentioned to my DH that when I was putting our DD to bed, she would move my hand from her belly to her vaginal area. At first I checked and her pull up was dry. Went back to rubbing her tummy to get her to sleep. She does it again about four more times, before I took my hand away and gently said no. She fell asleep after that.
Anyways, my DH has a DD who is 8 and has been actively exploring (it’s been an issue) since she was 5. I have explained to her now that she’s older, that 1. Do it in private. 2. I told her that dirty fingers cause infections = pain. 3. No foreign objects. And 4. That whatever she does in front of her 2 year old sister, she will copy.
Anyways, back to how my DH reacted. He immediately insinuated that I was blaming his DD (my step daughter, who I’ve been in her life since she was 8 months old..). I understand children exploring, and it’s natural, but I just don’t think that my 2yo playing my hand in her private area multiple times like that is something she “just discovered”. Idk. What should I do? The only time the two girls are alone with eachother that I am not there to control for, is when they spend a couple days at my in laws. The sisters take baths together and my in laws do not supervise. (8yoDD has told me so that they are not in the bathroom with them/just my daughter when bathing...)
