4 yr old still wetting

my 4 yr old has recently started at big school but has little accidents during the day sometimes it that shes not drying herself properly when she goe at home i make sure she does it properly but at school however they cannot do this, also it seems that she waits for me to ask if she wants to go then says yes and goes when she might of already dribbled, its not a major wetting however i want to prevent it as children are cruel and i dont want her upsetting at school. She still wets at night time however much i lift her but i can manage this by naking her take wets sheets of the bed and then going in the bath, nothing it seems seems to bother her HELP

Take her to the GP - my friend's little girl is 6 and has only just stopped wetting at school. She needed medication to expand her bladder which she was on for quite a while. Wetting at night at age 4 is not unusual. Lots of children carry on doing this for years beyond the age of 4 - it is just something that people don't talk about that openly.

my daughter is 4 in november and still having accidents, although not so much daily now but I just don't know where to start with nights?

I was lucky with both mine, DD decided at around 18 months that nappies werent for her I(she also decided this about bottles/non-spill cups/buggies and anything else that mad life that little bit easier!!) Ds is 3 in december and has just started being dry be night, he wets probably about once a week still though. But as a child I remember wetting when i was about eight, I used to dream that I needed the toilet, and actually dream about waking up, getting out of bed and going to the bathroom, I never realised I was wetting the bed til I actually released my bladder. All kids do it at different times, I'm not sure what to suggest about school, maybe you could get her special packets of tissues or something?? Making it more 'fun' for her might make her do it better??

I would give up on the lifting at night. It doesn't teach them to wake when they need to go, or to last the night.

Put spare pants in her PE bag and tell her she can change if she gets wet.

At 4, you make her strip her own bed for wetting it?

I agree with nab3, have a word with her teacher and keep spare knickers in her pe bag. You can even leave nappy sacks for her to put them in so they don't smell/look visible to other children.

Obviously you don't want her to wet at school but I wouldn't worry too much about her being ridiculed by the other children at this age. They just don't notice things like that and it seems a large number of them will have an accident at some point in Yr R and none of the children would ever comment on it.

I would also give up lifting her as she isn't learning to hold it. My DS1 wasn't out of nappies at night until he was 4.9 but we didn't stress about it. And one day he was ready (we forgot to put a nappy on and he did nothing all night) and has never wet the bed at all. Put her back in nappies for a month or two and try again later.

no point in putting her back in nappies shes not doing bad i am going to try not lifting her out though and see how she does
