6 month old doesn't sit up

Is this normal? I have a couple of friends who have said their DC have sat around 6 months, my DS is showing no signs of doing it any time soon. He can roll both ways but isn't interested in sitting at all.

Totally normal. The competitive “my baby does this” is anxiety inducing. They all do things at different ages so try not to worry. Just enjoy your gorgeous baby.

Thank you! He's my first and I have anxiety anyway so the milestones are not good for me 😂 yeah I have a friend who I know from baby group and her DD is a few weeks younger and can stand holding onto the table and walk around it which I know is super advanced but it doesn't help 🙈 xx

My baby is now 7.5 months and only just started sitting well. No signs of sitting at 6 months, and was extremely wobbly at 6.5 months. He has never rolled back to front and doesnt look like he ever will as he hates being on his tummy (rolls into back immediately). I also worried about what other babies at groups were doing before mine but they suddenly start doing things in a matter of days at this age when you thought they had showed no signs.

They really develop in their own time. Strength, position in the womb and all sorts affect this. My first girl sat up unaided at 5 month and my second girl has only just sat up unaided at 8 month. Plenty of tummy time he will get there when he needs to x

Totally fine! The rolling is all about strengthening their core in order to enable them to sit, stand and eventually walk. Don't fit them
up, let them roll all over the floor and eventually they'll sit themselves up!

Totally fine, my oldest didn't sit until 11 months. Putting them to sit is bad so wait until they can sit themselves so in theory they have to be able to crawl first.

Thanks everyone 😊 I'm not worried about him doing it first or anything I just don't want him to be behind and it really doesn't help when people keep telling you what their babies can do etc 🤦‍♀️
