Potty training advice

I know everything is a bit grim at the moment but thought it would be a great time to potty train.

DS is 2yr 10 months so thought it must be time! Although he’s not showing signs like telling me he’s done a wee etc but thought maybe he just needs a little encouragement??

He’s been great to start with, got very excited about wearing his superhero Pants but now he hates wearing them. Cries if I try to put them on so I’m just leaving him bear. Got a sticker chart and rewarding him with a penny for each wee/poo to be can buy a his own toy when he’s trained.

But he just doesn’t seem to be interested and it’s off putting when he’s crying.

Should I carry on an be persistent? Or give up if he’s not into it and causing him distress? Try again in a month?

Is he weeing/ pooing in potty or just wherever/ whenever?

Average age for boys is 2y11mo I think.

DS is 2y9mo almost. I may give him a little push while nursery is effectively closed. He's pretty aware of what he's doing and mostly choosing to wear nappies as it's easier!

After writing this post, actually had a successful day. One accident in the morning but after that he just weed on the potty throughout the day and asked me to take his trousers off so he could do so!

Still out nappy on him for nap/bedtime.
