Hi,
My son was put on the asd pathway in sept when he was 3, he turned 4 in Feb. We have another appointment in april with the paediatrician. I was just wondering when do they fully diagnose? His needs have changed since his last appointment so I am glad we have this one coming up. Thanks if anyone can help

I’d ask @MNHQ to move this to the special needs section Starfish. I’m sure the lovely MNers in there can help you with this Smile

Hi. I'm worried about my 3 year old. She's been referred to a speech therapist for delayed speech. This was back in September when she'd just started school. Since then she has come a long way and speaks 6/7 word sentences. But, it feels as though the understanding isn't there. She also walks on her tip toes and jumps a lot when she's excited. She does put her feet down when I ask her to but she forgets and does it again. Meal times can also be a challenge as she is very fussy. She ate everything as a baby /toddler but now she only likes specific foods. She'll eat everything I give her, but it's a battle.
She met all her milestones as a baby, always smiling, potty trained and never wets the bed. Plays all day and likes role play with dolls and teddies. Also likes other children, but gets over excited.
