DS is now approaching 3 and still refuses to feed himself. He is v capable of doing it, and has done before but is just not interested. His diet is great and will eat just about anything, so don't want to get into food battle. Any tips anyone?

Blimey Rachel - I think our sons must have been twins separated at birth - even down to the tray of Thomas stuff to get him to eat. He is also at a stage where I am not sure he is capable of understanding that there is nothing else if he doesn't eat up.

I ALSO have the problem of Grannie feeding cakes and goodies all day ( two days per week) and especially at 4.30 (just before I come home from work and start making supper) despite numerous pleas from me for her to stop the junk!

Rachel, One thing I realise though is that kids are just DIFFERENT from each other.. No good asking why YOUR child doesn't eat when everyones elses does. My DS1 eats for England! ANYTHING I put on front of him he will give a really good go! Feeds himself beautifuly too. I weaned DS2 in exactly the same way as I though I must obviously have got it right the first time. He just isn't interested. Food is YUK!

Having said that he was pretty good and ate half of his own chicken Korma at the table yesterday - Once is is no longer hungry he stops though so had to feed the rest in front of TV again. My Mum is in charge today so I expect they will have ben fed non stop Kit-Kats!
