My 3 yr old started a new preschool last week. 1st day she went in fine, but has got progressively worse every day to now she cries as soon as the car stops outside. She says she doesn't like it but at pick up time we struggle to get her out as she's playing happily.
We are assured every day by the staff that she stops crying quickly and plays nicely the rest of the time she's there, but it's quite traumatic walking away while she's howling and I'm worrying about her all day (needlessly it seems at pick up!).

Has anyone experienced this and got any good tips for making the start of our days calmer?

Hi! I have had this problem for over a year and a half with my little boy, it has only just been recently (last few weeks) he has started to get better, we find that talking about nursery more on his days off and before and after seems to help - I also find that explaining to my son that I have to go to school (I do technically, uni) helps him understand the concept more that everyone has to go to school... even if you aren't in education it is worth a try or comparing another little one in your family Smile hope it gets better soon! Xx
