Short arms

Hello,

Concerned mum of two. My daughter is 6 months old and has short arms compared to her body. I have looked at other babies her age and hers are shorter. Her hands don't meet above her head. My son didn't look like this as he was long all over. I need to roll up all her tops and baby grows up on the sleeves. She is currently 50 percentile for length but I would say this is due to her long trunk. Her arms and hands when stretched out reach the top of thighs/ hips but don't come down further like other babies. Anyone else got a baby with short arms and this evened out over time or this a sign of something that needs investigating?

I worried about this exact thing with my DD who is now 4! I always thought her arms looked unusually short and even used to google pictures to show expected arm to body length ratio. We also had to roll sleeves up loads for ages it felt like. Not quite sure when she grew into more usual proportions but she definitely doesn’t seem to have short arms at all now! I’m not sure how common it is but I’d say it’s likely that it’s nothing to worry about.

@thebearandthemare thank you so much for responding. I could have written your response, I too have been googling proportions. So pleased to hear your daughter now looks in proportion. My son is nearly 3 and looks like a proper little boy, everything in proportion, so can't remember him being little. The rolling up of sleeves is what keeps me reminding me and stressing me out.
Thanks again
