Senior School - bad behaviour

Hello, not sure if anyone has any helpful advice but my DS is 12 (he's in Year 8) and for the second time in a few months is on report due to his bad behaviour. He constantly disrupts his classes - talks too much, gets up out of his chair etc. One of the teachers has written in capital letters about how awful his behaviour is and I feel so embarrassed and helpless. I've tried talking to him on several occasions but he's not taking anything in. Punishing him (making him miss sports clubs) doesn't work and neither does taking away screens. I've also tried rewarding good behaviour at home but it doesn't change how he behaves at school. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can handle this with the school? It was suggested to me (not by the school) that he take 10 mins out every lesson to run around because it's impossible for him to sit still for a whole lesson (let alone a double lesson) but the school seem just to want to punish him and haven't come up with any other solutions. Thank you. xxx

Is he able to focus on things at home? The inability to sit still for an hour would be fairly unusual in a normal 12yr old, does he show any signs of ADHD or similar?

I'd threaten to do this

Have you had a face-to-face meeting with school about it?

Hi everyone. Thank you. He actually has quite a lot of the signs of ADHD. He was premature/very low birth weight too which increases the risk. I have tried to meet with the school but his tutor hasn't come back to me. I'm going to try and speak to the SENCO this week.
He can focus at home - we have two boxing bags which he uses often and he also skips a lot and plays football. His focus on homework is awful but I don't know if he can't do it or won't do it.
Thanks for your help everyone. xxx
