Private Paediatrician

Hi, my 23mo DD, is on the NHS waiting list to see a development paediatrician, for her speech and play development.

I’ve been trying to find a private paediatrician in our area (north east England) but struggling.
Could our GP or HV be able to help with finding one?

Is she on the waiting list for a particular Paediatrician through the NHS? It might be worth looking them up then phoning their secretary to see if they do private consultations.

@JiltedJohnsJulie yes, we are waiting to hear from them to arrange an appointment, but have been told that there’s an 18 week wait, which is why I was looking for a private one.
She was under a paediatrician for something else which she was signed off from, I could maybe ask them. Thanks.

Have you asked if the waitlist is shorter if you go private?

Many (possibly all) paediatricians refuse to do private work as they're against it ethically so you may struggle. Contacting the paediatrician's secretary or seeing your GP about it are probably the best options though
