Does my newborn son look ok ?

I sometimes feel concerned if my 5 day old baby boy has any health concern.
He sometimes makes jerky movements with his hand against on his face. And sometimes have a blank look stare on his face.

From your photos I would say he looks just gorgeous!
If you are concerned it would be best for you to ask a professional who can hold him and watch him. In most places in the UK you would have a visit around now for a check up, for him to be weighed and for the bloodspot test to be done. Have you seen a midwife recently? When are you due to see someone next?

Looks good to me! My boy had his hands by his face for many weeks, they often have them there in the womb, it takes time to relax. Jerky movements are often normal too :) Not sure about blank stares, mine had crossed eyes for ages though and was worried they'd missed something (they hadnt, and his eyes are fine now)

Babies can't focus with their eyes when they are newborn, this will start to improve. They see black and white much clearer. Try drawing some pictures in black pen on white paper, you'll find he'll start to follow it.

He's gorgeous. It's really normal for them to be jittery at this age and they're unable to focus. It's also normal to worry about everything.
