Just wondering if anyone else’s child has had/got global development delay? I’ve been advised my daughter has it in the speech and play areas.
We are being referred to a paediatrician.
Did your child catch up ok?

Sorry that you haven’t had any responses to this Ted. I’m sure I’ve seen previous threads where the DC have caught up.

If she is behind in speech, is she currently getting any speech therapy?

The term global development delay is normally used where there are a delays across multiple areas including social, motor and communication delays. Speech delays are common at this age and in isolation tend to resolve by themselves, however delays in play can signal potential delays in other areas. By delays in play I assume you mean little pretend play, not interested in toys, not interested in parallel play, etc.?

She's been to see a speech therapist and she's the one who's referring her to a paediatrician first to assess all her development.

@AladdinMum delayed play, yes she’s doesn’t pretend play, but loves her toys.
