Dd (2 in Sept) doesn't walk well, need some advice

She walks fine on her own or holding ds's hand, but she is no good when we walk around town (along a busy road etc).

Dd will not hold hands with either myself or dh, and it is obviously not fair for her to hold hands with my ds (3).

She won't be carried or sit on dh's shoulders (sp?), nor will she sit in a pushchair or have reigns on her.

So, we walk around town around with dd crying and screaming (more screaming lol).

What can we do?

Thanks

You could try having a very short phrase to show the difference between when she can walk on her own "quiet here, no hands" and when she needs to hold your hand "busy road, hold hands". If she has enough opportunity to walk unaided, hopefully she'll learn to accept the times when she needs to be safe.

Otherwise, I think you'll have to put up with it until she passes through this phase of being so independent.
