7 month old movement

Hi All

I am getting a bit worried about my seven month old. She is DD2 - I am trying not to compare, but it’s difficult.

She has only rolled from back to front once, a couple of weeks ago. She can roll from front to back, and has been able to for a while.

She is only just starting to sit unsupported; she is still very wobbly, and can’t sit for too long. She is not showing any sign of wanting to crawl. She has always hated tummy time, and now she can roll onto her back, she just flips over when we pop her on her tum.

She is generally a very smiley baby - far more so than DD1. She can be very fussy though.

I am starting to worry about her movements, and that everything seems to be slower than with DD1.

I mentioned to the HV a week or two ago about the sitting, and she just asked whether she could sit in a high chair (which she can, without problem) and said not to worry.

Am I overthinking?

I've felt that same. My little boy was 7 months on 22nd January.
He only rolls from front to back, I think he's too lazy to do the other as he rolls straight to the point where he could just flip to his front from back!
He's only just started sitting unaided for longer than 30 seconds. I'd try not to worry. All babies are different :) trust me I know it's easier said than done.
My little boy had severe colic for 4 and a half months and screamed every day from morning until night so he hated being on his tummy! Xo

Thanks @Delilah7 - that’s reassuring. I always said I wouldn’t be someone who worried over every little thing they were doing/were not doing... and yet here I am! X

@Genzymoo trust me I was the same but you can't help but compare. Well I can't! Try relax and then it seems to happen more 😂 x

My baby girl 7 month old this friday and I am in the exactly same boat. She can only roll from back to tummy and nowhere close to sitting and crawling. All her peers started sitting up and crawling, seeing that it makes makes only worried more. I understand you very well. Keep this post updated with any development in your baby, please :)

@mishimab it’s really difficult not to compare children! My first did not crawl until almost 9 months, and that worried me a bit, but she was fine, and then started walking relatively early. So I am now comparing DD2 with her peers, and DD1!
