Should I be worried about 5 month old

He isn't reaching for toys or anything else. He holds his hands together and chews on them. He grabs at his clothes and my skin when bf. He looks at toys and follows them with his eyes but makes no attempt to get them.

He has good head control, kicks both legs strongly and can put weight on his legs for a long time. He hates being on his tummy but has managed to roll onto his back a few times nit rolled the other way. He smiles but has not laughed yet. He has just turned 5 months.

You should ask your health visitor

It doesn’t sound out of the ordinary to me. My DD did reach for toys at this age, but certainly couldn’t roll - she didn’t manage that till she was 7/8 months I think. She absolutely hated tummy time. The only affect it had was that she learnt to walk before she learnt to crawl. No issues with gross motor or any other development (she’s 3 now).

If you’re concerned, book an appointment with your health visitor.

Sounds exactly like my DS was.
