With my DS, he used to get a high temp, snotty nose (cold like systems) and would chew on anything he could into his mouth! Also sometimes cried like he was in real pain! Hope this helps

different babies have different thing dd had red cheeks swollen gums loss appitite waking screaming everything going in mouth gnawing fingers spoons toys, some babies seem like they have a cold get loose poos nappy rash vomiting
you wont need to look for them they will get your attention in the form of an upset baby hth

The drooling/pain can start months before the teeth actually appear. My mum kept on saying that ds was teething because he had loads of drool at around 2 months and he got his first teeth through at around 6 months. Seems to take him 2 months at a time, but usually gets 4 teeth through together...

dont waste cash on teething rings dd never wanted them buy her, she chewed on spoons and tiptops

stellyp · 29/08/2007 14:04

you've saved me some cash meandmy i'll give the teething rings for now i guess. how about bf? did anyone find they had to give up while their little ones were teething or do you just carry on as normal?

I breastfed until mine was 6 months old - from memory I think he already had 6 teeth. And yes, he did bite once or twice and it was flippin painful! Thankfully he decided to wean himself off at 6 months - just as well really - used to cringe everytime those little teeth came anywhere near my boobs!

carry on as usual, and hope they don't decide that nipples are a great alternative to teething rings. Nah, if they start chewing jsut insert your finger to break the suction and take them off the breast.

my son started getting teething pains at 6 weeks but took untill he was 6 mths for tooth to come through red cheek can be a sign the wanting to bite down on whatever side pain is

if you freeze corner of as flannel you can press that on sore gum

mishymoo · 29/08/2007 14:12

Also, I know other mums who carried on through teething with no problems! Everyone is different, just see how it goes!

chopster · 29/08/2007 14:12

Oh and mine liked chewing on muslins. Especially when they are so tiny, a bit of cloth is easier to get hold of and shove in the mouth.

thanks for all your advice again...i'll just have to see how it goes. She's not as grumpy today, but she does want to chew everything in site! Thanks again
